BETA PHOTO: The routes at the Mine Wall.

Description

The Mine Wall is a limestone wall way in the back of Rock Canyon, just before The Threshold. There are two completed routes and an old project. The bottom of the cliff is chossy, but the rock is better higher up.

The wall faces west and generally gets afternoon sun, but is in the shade later in the afternoon. The shade combined with the proximity to the stream make this a very pleasant area on summer days.

Getting There

Instead of crossing the stream on the fourth wooden bridge, follow the obvious trail to the left. This will keep you on the north side of the stream. The first cliff you come to has an old mine right next to the trail. This is the Mine Wall. If you get to The Threshold, you've gone too far.

Approach time: 30-40 minutes.

Spit and Vinegar 5.10c 6b 20 VII E2 5b  UT : Wasatch Range : ... : The Mine Wall
The route starts on some chossy rock but starts to get fun when you hit the sweet diagonal liebacks. Reach to the left to clip the third bolt and then head up and over the bulge on some neat pockets. Stay to the right of the bolts. The climbing after that eases but you still need to pay attention....[more]   Browse More Classics in UT
