Hello senators,

Has anybody used the gear marker called "The Mark"? I am not sure who makes it, all I remember from the review I read is that it is basically an epoxy paint pen that will never chip or fade. Just wondering if anyone has used it and where they got it.

Thanks!

I saw a review in Rock and Ice. One time application period, but they include two sets to mix.

You can order it from them.

just marked my rack with it, stuff looks incredibly strong. just make sure you clean/prep your gear before you mix it up, it was setting up pretty fast for me

It was invented (patented...whatever) by an old friend of mine and mp.com member Lon Black. He also invented The Bottle Belt.

Props Lon!!

Met the inventor in Eldo a few weeks back. Nice guy. Would buy his product but the 99 cent spray paint can from walmart has done me well for years. I do have to reapply it about once every year and a half to two years, though.

Just received mine in the mail the other day and am cautiously optimistic. It could be a great improvement on tape or spray paint.....i think.

Rebackman, thoughts so far on durability? Any other advise on the application process?

Cheers!

3+ years later, "The Mark" is partially still in place on most of my gear. some has flaked off but still visible. Look for low wear areas that won;t contact rock & it does alright. I decided to just use nail polish though. my 2 cents!
