  • Description

The Main Cliffs hold some of the longest routes in the Sacred Cliffs. The rock is typical of the hill, and a slew of routes are still of mixed character. The short hike is well worth the investment for the quality of the routes and exposure on the longer ones.

    Getting There

Hike South along the ridge to a point 100 ft or so beyond Pebble Beach. There is a nice point immediately prior to The Main Cliffs where you stand just above the canyon looking East over Boulder, a nice view and a popular spot for non-climbers, climbing starts on the right with a North Facing Crack.

This is a pleasant climb on the upper half and potentially pleasant on the lower half, depending on the route taken. Choose wisely for the best rock. The second pitch is a mellow romp with a spectacular position.P1: start at the base, just North of the obvious summit block of the South Peak of Green Mt. (AKA: Main Crag of the Sacred Cliffs). Climb up perhaps 25 meters, picking a line with the easiest moves and best stone. It is perhaps 5.4. Arrive at a good ledge near a notch to the East Fa...[more]   Browse More Classics in CO
