Description

The Island is the name for the plug of granite rising 100' tall from the parking Area. A free standing pillar nearly all the way around hosting nearly two dozen rock climbs. Nearly every grade is represented from 5.7 to 5.12a. You can chase sun or shade depending on time of day or year. The approach from your car is less than a minute, seriously, it takes longer to walk from your car into your local climbing gym.

Getting There

Drive west from Cody into the Shoshone Canyon on Hwy 14/16. At the far West end of the canyon, you will drive through two short tunnels to find the Climbers Parking Area on the North side of the Highway before you enter the long tunnel, pull in here.
