Description 

This is the isolated peak overlooking much of McGee Canyon, Evolution Valley, and Darwin Bench. John Muir Trail and Sierra High Route travelers will get good views from various angles.

Getting There 

Solid day/day and a half from the North Lake trailhead. Most parties will pass over Lamarck Col. After descending from the Col through Darwin Canyon, campsites are plentiful at Darwin Bench, Evolution Lake, upper Evolution Valley, and McGee Canyon.
