Description
The Frenchman Buttress is a big, elongated buttress that extends far uphill from its base. It is pretty chossy but could get much better with more use/cleaning.
Getting There
From Almont, head up Taylor Canyon past the Lottis Creek Campground towards the dam. There will be fencing and wire blocking access to the river soon after passing Lottis Creek. Cross the Taylor River to the north bank, and then begin to look up and left (north). The buttress is maybe only a quarter-half mile below the dam. Park at a pullout where the private property along the river ends (there is a wire crossing the river there).
