Darin, I'd take the sling down in NM. Any chance you could ship it?

First poof gone.

2nd prize is a marmot pull over mini poof. It's an old model but hardly worn. Can send pic if needed. It's black, large but fits like a medium, and has a cotton lining. Might be made to tuck into a snow suit because the bottom half of the jacket is a touch thinner. Kind if an odd description, but it's basically a mini poof pullover. Same deal, $10

Am I out of line for getting annoyed by people not being particularly nice about inquiries for free gear? I've given away a few items, and most emails are very friendly and appreciative - "thanks either way for posting up". Lately others include "let me know what you haveleft" and "I'll take it", not even a hello or thanks. I'm not doing this to have my ego stroked, but, sheesh... Maybe I'm the dweeb? Not even hello? wtf?! Maurice Chaunders

No, you're right. Apologies for being unnecessarily taciturn in my PM and reply message.

No worries all. I realize there are various types of gear being given away, but the gear I'm giving away is good stuff and my greatest gear is that it won't be enjoyed as much as I've enjoyed it. I don't want it to be neglected or taken for granted-which is how I end up with to give away. 1st world problem disclosure: not only do I have too much stuff, I'm also too hung up on the stuff I have. I suppose the last thing I want out of the gear that I've already determined to be no longer well suited for me, is the satisfaction of knowing that it's going to a good home or to some filthy bum who really needs it. I've gotten a few nice PMs, on addition to these posts, and hopefully this will continue to not come across as condescending or hypocritical, and we can move on with our gear trade. Cheers

P.S. I am sending a gear sling to the poster above who missed out in the one posted earlier

Resting at Pebble Creek on the way up to Camp Muir...
Looking for some rock climbing shoes. I have a pair for myself but am teaching some friends with bigger feet than mine. They're a size 11-ish. Preferably conservative design (gentle or no camber). I can afford to pay some (up to $15), but definitely can't afford a new pair, especially since they're for those I'm teaching and are only investigating the sport. If you have an old pair that you're looking to get rid of, they would be going to a good cause here.

Thank you.

Hey Ben,

I got a pair of 5.10s for ya. They're about 3 or 4 years old, but still in decent condition. Just a little stretched out and some wear around the toes. I've gotten enough cheap stuff off of here. Time to give back. Let me know if you're interested.

Free stuff, available for pick in San Fran/Bay area, or shipped to your door.

Ice climbing boots:

[1,1]: Scarpa Inverno! size 10.5 - definitely used, but still in good condition - great for Lake Willoughby in January, Mt Washington gullies or Mt Shasta in winter.
[1,2]: La Sportiva K3, size 10 - used maybe 4-5 times over 8 years, just a bad fit for me.

[2,1]: Scarpa Alpha, size 9.5 - they have climbed ice in 6 countries. the plastic in good shape, the inserts are showing some signs of wear. Overall, these boots have plenty of life left in them.

[2,2]: Lowa Civetta Extreme, Lady's size 6.5 - used 3 times. Plastic boots, very warm, again best for a Mt Washington kind of date climb.

Charlet Moser ice axe - used on many occasions in the above mentioned gullies and on Mt Shasta. works well.

DMM Deadman - brand new, 10(?) years old - never found a use for this thing, you probably need to go to Aconcagua?

you pay shipping or pick up. Happy climbing!

Thanks to everybody who responded. I am replying to the emails as I received them (first come first serve basis), and will attempt to respond to every email. My only request to the prospective recipients of stuff: please, do not ask for it if you are thinking of re-selling it. The intention of the post is to have the items end up in the hands of those who need them.

edit: if for some reason the first person in line for a specific item does not want the item any more/changed their mind, i will notify the runner-up.

Does anyone in the Vancouver area have spare nylon cord in the 1+m range? Not heavily abused/kept in decent shape please. All diameters from 6mm - 25 mm work for me (I need an assortment). I also need kevlar cord in the same range but thinner diameter (down to 4mm)

PM me please :D
