Description

The fins of rock jutting out from the hill side above the hard-man crag 'Swamp Rock'. The Fins host about 7 completed sport climbs with room for at least a few more. Besides some excellent warm-ups for the Swamp, the main draw of the Fins is the close proximity to Bozeman. You can be at the base of most of the climbs within about 35 minutes from town.

Getting There

Head up Hyalite Canyon Road and park in a large paved pullout on the right about 100 feet before mile marker 8. Swamp Rock is just below the pullout next to the stream, while the Fins are above the pullout and can easily be seen from the road.
To get to the climbs, cross the road and head up the road cut next to the mile marker 8 sign. See individual climbs for approaches. It's about a 5 minute hike to most climbs.
