Description
Like the rest of Hammond Pond, the rock here is conglomerate puddingstone, forming lots of small (often sharp) knobs and features. The Estate is well shaded by surrounding trees and is quite scenic in autumn despite being so close to the road.
Getting There
Option A: walking up Hammond Pond Parkway towards the temple, turn right into the woods when the sign for the Chestnut Hill Mall becomes visible.
Option B: from the Alcove, walk past the Beached Whale and Vittles Wall until you reach a line of talus.
Either way, follow the talus line to the north until you see a prominent highball. This is The Estate.
