Description

This is a small boulder just outside of Alma which is northwest of Fairplay, Colorado on CO Hwy 9. There are seven problems around the boulder with room left over for a few more.

Beer can be had at two bars in Alma and one in Fairplay. Breckenridge is about an hour away.

There is nothing is super spectacular on this boulder, but if you are in the area, check it out.

Getting There

From Denver, take US 285 west to CO Hwy 9. Go to the north west through Alma. Once through Alma, the boulder will be 5 minutes outside of town on the right side of the road.

From Breckenridge, go south on CO Hwy 9 over Hooosier Pass. The boulder is on the left, right before Alma.

Unable to find this boulder near the Alma city limits. There is a new storage facility, which may be where it once was. If anyone has better directions that would help (mile marker).

It is not right near the town limits. Near is a relative term. It is the only obvious boulder as you leave Alma.

Just to the north of the storage facility is the bolder. It's in a small valley type thing.

Zeroed the odometer at the Al-Mart in Alma (right across the street from AOB (Alma's Only Bar)). From the Al-Mart to the boulder was 1.7 miles.

This is a 4ft tall boulder. The photos are all extreme close ups. Not even worth a work out.

^I agree, it would be nice if the description to these problems said something like "sds" or start on left hand crimp, right hand sidepull, etc., etc. This boulder is seriously dirty and small.
