The Bolts on Longs' Cables Route

I just wanted to share something that concerns me about the 6 bolts leading up the Cables route on Longs. Last summer I rappeled off the face, feeding the rope through the top bolt as well as the second from the top for backup (which judging from TR's is what many parties do). When I was up there last weekend I noticed not only are there are no longer 6 bolts, but 4 bolts and 2 "stumps" where the bolts broke off, but also that the second bolt I believe I tied off on last summer, the backup bolt, is now gone, a stump in its place. One of the main reasons Ryan and I descended the Keyhole last weekend was because we simply don't trust these bolts anymore, they're what? 50 years old or something like that? On top of all that I noticed the first bolt has a large crack running through it, prompting us to back it up with a stopper. I just wanted to share this as I believe many (including myself last summer) assume the bolts are completey structurally sound, and last weekend I saw evidence to the contrary. Backup your rappels!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
