In the woods north of the Lost Boulder, just about exactly between Hazard and Wickaboxet Ponds is a small crag of the same stone, about 20' tall by 50' wide. It has a nice flat landing and a bunch of nice easy and moderates to cruise around on. It is pretty far to hike to and I don't know that there is anything harder to do than maybe V3, but if you like to hike around and explore, it is a nice spot to hang out and chill with the sun filtering through the trees. I cleaned it off years ago, pulling vines and cleaning out the cracks and pockets and when I checked on it recently it seemed to be holding up well, though it could use some brushing here and there. There are some other scattered bouldering possibilities in the vicinity on the way in.
That's the trick. I usually got there by going in like you are going to the Lost Boulder, then once you have crossed the Wood River and met up with the dirt track, go left (NW) instead of right. This track fades out pretty quickly. It used to be followable, but now it is very hard to see until it reappears as you get close to the ledge, so until you are familiar with the area, you will want a GPS to get you there. It is maybe 15 minute from where you turn if you go directly. It will be on your left if coming from the SE. This is the roundabout way, making a big horseshoe. I have come in directly from Hazard Rd and saved a lot of distance, but I had to cross a swamp to start, impractical unless it is very dry or frozen. Coming in from Hazard Rd you are aiming to run into a good woods road that you take to the left (NE) until you can take a right turn which soon brings you to the ledge. If you can find a way to get around the swamp without going through somebody's yard, this would be the way. Just make sure you start north of Wood River or you will be hosed.
