  • Description

One of the only shady spots to climb at East Peak. Short but decent routes free from sun, wind, and potential rock throwing Castle Craig visitors. Very secluded except for the occasional passerby on the Metacomet trail although if your quiet they wont even know your there. Takes a while for this little nook to dry out after rain.

    Getting There

From the Castle Craig tower follow the blue blazed Metacomet trail north. Before you reach the Merimere Face overlook there is a ravine/ gulley on the right that leads down a few hundred feet to a wall on the right. Swing around the buttress at the far end of this wall and you will be looking into the Alcove
