Thanksgiving Climbing

I can't go see my family this Thanksgiving, so I decided it's a good time to get some climbing on. I live in Lubbock, TX (if you don't know, that's really north texas) and am looking for a car drive no longer than 10ish hours.
Which would be the best places to sport climbing or boulder? Considering the weather.

Tim, I love Hueco, but it is one of the places I go often. Anywhere in New Mexico really. So since I have a longer break I was wanting to explore some new/further areas.

Pretty sure there's no part of New Mexico that's east of northern Texas. But maybe I misunderstood that.

Shelf Road would probably be my number one for sport climbing in that distance that isn't NM.

Hope this helps...

Yeah, ok. I mix up west and east all the time when I get away from familiar landmarks. On a global scale I think of the US east coast as east regardless of where I'm actually referencing.

Haha no problem Tim, I understood. But what I actually meant to say is that I go to NM and Hueco Tanks often. So I'm trying to get away from those that I can do on a weekend trip anytime.

Okay now I'm lost. All of NM is west of northern Texas where Lubbock is.

Horseshoe Canyon is just under 10 hours from Lubbock

Head to southern Az: Cochise Stronghold and Mt Lemmon.

Alabama would be fairly warm and has some good sport climbing and bouldering. Look at Little river canyon and horse pens. If you think trad is rad, get your ass to Chattanooga and go to T-wall.

+1 for AZ or HCR, AR.
TN and AL are both WAY beyond the 10 hour driving range the OP stipulated.

Shelfs-giving is always a good time. I am sure plenty of cool people will be at shelf road (me included).

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
