Technical slab/face climbing near Carbondale

My brother's wedding is in CO June 2015 (never stayed in the state before) and I'm taking a few extra days to climb.
I'm looking for technical face/slab climbing..Most of my time is spent in the Red River Gorge in Kentucky and I've had enough pumpy overhanging jughauls. Slow, problem-solving heavy climbs are my favorite so I'd love some suggestions that are within 1-2 hours of Carbondale. Or maybe there's nothing around that city, idk. I could just look for myself through the route list but I'd rather just hear from people.
I enjoy leading 10s and 11s.
Thanks.

City... hah. Rifle is certainly the nearest destination area, and while it's known for it's steepness there are a few "slab" test pieces.

Silver Surfer being the standout

June of next year? Relax. You've lots of time.

Rifle has lots of "slab" routes in your range and is only about an hour away. Browse the area on MP and decide. Don't know how many days "several" is, but just remember Rifle is redpoint rated. Not on-sight rated.

June's far away but I used up all my vacation days for this year and am bored as hell.

The best local climbing that fits what you are looking for is the Frying Pan area. It's about 30-40 minute drive from Carbondale, and is the most techy stuff around.

There are some routes posted here:

and then you can find more info on the upper crags here:

Although coming from the Red you might think Rifle is slabby, so you should check that out too if you have time.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
