I recently read about someone on mountainproject who got a warning from thier employer over a posting on a forum. I wouldnt work another second for that employer. I think it's time we the people took our country back. What you do and say in your free time doesnt reflect on your place of employment period. It reflects on you personally. If you smoke, drink, or have to much fun and your employer finds out about it they shouldnt use the cop-out that they are reprimanding you because how it impacts or reflects on thier business. Most people are smart enough to know that people from all walks of life make mistakes some larger than others and dont think that it reflects on the business that employs them one bit. So if your employer thinks your private life is their business tell them to "take this job and shove it"

Me and the offspring walking back to the car after a day of cragging.
That might be an easier sell in an employment market that wasn't leaving bachelors and masters degree holders unemployed. I'm with you though. If I'm not breaking the law, stay the fuck out of my business. If I do good work for you and I'm a productive and industrious employee, stay the fuck out of my business. Now, if you post a vid of you on YouTube sucking toes or something, and you're in a high profile position and your company could receive some backlash because of it, then that's a different story. I suppose though, that all these companies that invade privacy could claim that very thing. A slippery slope of sorts.
