Saw this fiasco from town yesterday, near Open Book area? Anyone have any info?

The choppers were circling Tahquitz all day. I was climbing on the north side, and at around 6:30 pm I was doing the slabs descent and saw a chopper drop a rescue gurney onto the jungle, and an hour later while leaving I saw what looked like the chopper picking up the gurney with a person in it, though my sight was partially obscured by trees.

We asked someone on the rescue crew (at the lower parking lot) and he said that the climber was on the West side and the climber broke his/her hip.

Thunderbolt Peak in the Palisades

I was on suicide watching the helicopters all day. Ranger said someone took a 30 foot leader fall and decked causing a broken hip.

There was SAR personnel lowered from a helo onto jungle ledge. From the post above I assume that they short hauled the victim off.

Trying to onsight 12a at Holcomb Valley Pinnacles.

I was climbing The Step on Saturday. We got buzzed by helicopters about 20 times as they circled around and finally dropped/lowered 2 SAR climbers and the gurney and then lifted the gurney off. It was a wild experience to climb with copters flying around all day.

On the hike down we passed about 10 guys in orange prison jumpsuits. They had no clue where the trail went. Later on down the trail a Fireman told us plan A was to lift the gurney with the helicopter and plan B was to hike the gurney down with the help of the prisoners.

No confirmation but heard the climber fell 30-40 feet, and suffered a broken hip. Looked like they were climbing in the area of Jensens Jaunt second pitch (the awkward wide part).

Yep, the climber took a 30 to 40 foot leader fall on "Finger Grip" above the jungle ledge. Two RMRU "Riverside Mountain Rescue Unit" volunteers where lowered on to the ledge via copter with a litter. They where able to package up the climber and hoisted him out along with his wife. He was transported via Mercy Air to Riverside County Hospital. I was hoping someone here might know how is is doing?
