i will be in tahoe in 2 wks. can anybody recommend a 1/2 day climb as well as a guide service? i'm not familiar with the area, but am hoping this is all doable. thanks for the feedback! |

Contact Petch. He's a good, safe and personable guide (as well as being cheaper than the other guide services): |

shouldn't the roads be closed to phantom? |
thanks for the info. i just called and left a voicemail for petch to call me back. any idea how far lover's leap and phantom spires are from incline village? p.s. i owe you guys a beer for your help |
a little over an hour, the leap is gonna be in the shade most of the day and the temps are supposed to drop off a bit. the road to phantom closes with snow, so that might not be your best bet either. maybe some guys from n shore will chime in with whats good their way. if you can find something s facing and dry at donner, that might be worth checking out. |

Petch guides at Sugarloaf, too, which is unlikely to be affected by snow, but further from Incline Village. |
cool! any idea how long of a drive from incline village to sugarloaf? i'm looking forward to talking w/ petch. |
Hour and a half? Check out a map - Sugarloaf is right above the tiny town of Kyburz. Petch may be able to guide somewhere closer to Incline Village that is accessible in the winter. There is climbing much closer to Incline Village, as ze dirtbag mentioned, but for guided climbing, go with Petch. |
