Rappelling down the face.

Description

  • *Majority taken from Weekend Rock WA, David Whitelaw**
Home to several moderate trad leads, but many come here specifically to top-rope. There are several bolted anchors (brand new looking) and convenient trees located at the top of the feature.

Getting There

Drive up the Mount Erie road until just shy of the summit towers. As you drive underneath the powerlines near the top, the Summit Wall parking area (not the main summit area parking & viewpoint) is visible directly ahead & on the right as the road swings sharply left. Only room for a few cars, but the main parking area is only another several hundred feet along the road.
Approach: from the lower parking area (not the main one at the top), two trails head south to the buttress. Left trail leads to the top of the crag & the lower or right trail leads out through the trees & across an exposed step-around bouldering move to reach the bottom of the crag (at least one non-climber fatality has occurred at the step-around move--be cautious).
