Summer fun in southern in central Utah

My wife and I are going to be cruising through central Utah next week. We are looking for some cool, shady crags that also maybe have some water nearby. Or, we are looking for some swimming holes. Instead of scrounging around the internet and possibly not finding anything, I'm looking for people's firsthand knowledge who know the area best. Can anyone recommend a few cool spots?
