No worries about the heat; all you need is an enthusiastic blow dryer. Won't affect the cables at all.

If you use some shrink that is just large enough to fit over the head, and you use a hot heat source (e.g. a torch or heat gun), then yes, it will shrink sufficiently.

A LOT less than the heat required to braze/solder the wire into the head.

If you heated the wire enough to reach the recrystallization temperature of the steel, then your heat shrink would be on fire and completely destroyed. ;)

Um, electrical tape? But yeah, try heat shrink first..
Or you could always put the heat shrink tube, and then if it is not
adequately small/tight enough fill the inside with some glue!

go old school and whip it with some thick nylon thread, glue it if you don't want to ever remove it:
