Hoping to make a trip down south this winter and I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion on which boulderfield is superior in terms of quality/quantity of problems from V5-V9?

I would check out Stone Fort over HP40.
1. Stone Fort = 5 bucks for a day pass.....HP40=25 for day and camping pass.
2. Stone Fort has a significantly wider variety of climbing. Roofs, slopers, dynos, High balls, and Finger CRACKS!!!
3. Also Stone Fort is "stones throw" away from Chattanooga, which is a super awesome place to grab some craft brews and see the night life.

HP40 is actually $15 for camping, which gives you full access until sundown the next day. More expensive than it used to be, but not terrible. HP40 also has good amenities for road trip camping such as free showers.

Stone Fort will definitely give you a wider variety of climbing. Lots of slopers and friction at HP40. Stone Fort also doesn't have camping onsite.

If you are taking the time to road trip down, I would suggest hitting up both of them. Get some Rock Town in there too.

Hope that helps. All these areas are really about a 2.5 hour drive from each other.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
