Bummer. Where did the break in happen?

You probably already know, but your homeowner's or renter's insurance will cover this if you have a policy.

OUCH. Was in that exact situation last year, my list of stolen gear was nearly identical to yours. Unfortunately for me i did not have renters insurance. Strangely fortunate for me was the fact that the perps procured an old check-book from the truck, and being that they were running an elaborate id theft ring and were under investigation, they were busted in a raid a week later and arrested for id theft. My gear was mia but they are now responsible for restitution. So i wasn't totally screwed.

My advice, if you don't have renter's/homeowner's, get it now. You could start checking craigslist and ebay for your gear, and try to HOUND the police to check the pawn shop records for you, they aren't usually very helpful but if you bug them enough they might do it.

oh, and i now document each piece of gear i buy with a picture and i keep the receipts filed in a special place. sounds overkill i know, but it comes in handy if you have to id your gear @ a pawn shop
