Description

This area , the "Steinerne Stadt," translate to "City of Rocks," and has become the area of choice for climbing classes taught by the guide services in the Groednertal (Wolkenstein, St. Christina, and St, Ulrich). There are literally acres of large rocks, bigger than boulders, which are studded with well-placed expansion bolts.

Getting There

Park a car at the Sassolungo lift area of take a bus to the Sella Pass. There's a trail/4-wheel drive capable road starting beneath the Sassolungo gondolabahn heading uphill towards the mountain massif. Follow the road and there are many rocks immediately adjacent thereto.
