I like having goals, they really help me to stay motivated and to stick with training plans, diets, sleep routines etc. So that being said, I thought a great goal for the next few months would be to train for and climb Squawstruck. mountainproject.com/v/squaw…

I'm looking for somebody out there who would like to spend maybe 3 or 4 months training with me to climb all 1900' and do the hike out. If anyone is interested I thought that it would be cool to meet up and train indoors until the weather is good enough to be hitting Rock Canyon for real. If you're interested my idea is something like this:

While its cold outside we could train indoors. If you have a pass to Momentum that would be great, if not, I could guest pass you in twice a month and we could train every other friday (Momentum has a free-friend-friday promotion we could take advantage of that is the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month). I thought this would be a good way to make sure that we get along, and feel safe climbing with each other.

After its warmed up a little, we could start hitting Rock Canyon properly. If you lived close to me we could carpool or meet up at the canyon. Ideally I would like to go a couple days a week just so that we're really comfortable with that type of rock (getting used to pulling out loose blocks, etc).

Then in the beginning of May, we can try our luck on Squawstruck. I'm not a 5.11- leader outdoors quite yet. I have flashed a 5.10b in Rock Canyon before, but I've actually never tried anything harder than that.

I do have other partners I could try this with, but they are often busy and I don't think any of them have much interest in sportaneering. Also, I really want to get out and climb as close to every day as I can this year. Meeting a new partner who wants to get out a lot too is an ulterior motive for this goal.

If your interested, pm me.

Thanks for the link! It had a bunch of cool info and history. I gotta say, that page made me a bit more nervous about my chances of success then the mp comments did. I still want to try it, but now I wonder if I'll be ready for Squawstruck before it is to hot to climb it.
