Anyone have any idea what the Spring closures in Zion will be this year? We are debating a trip there in late April, but reading last years closures it sounds like a fair bit of the shady cragging will be closed. Are the closures typically the same each year?

In my experience they are typically the same. For example, Angels Landing is always on the list. It seems they have made some efforts to lift closures if there are no birds nesting but it seems like it takes a while.

Last year's closures included Angels Landing, Cable Mountain, The Great White Throne (beyond single- and double-pitched climbs), Isaac (in Court of the Patriarchs), The Sentinel, Mountain of the Sun, North Twin Brother, Tunnel Wall, The East Temple, Mount Spry, The Streaked Wall, Mount Kinesava, and the Middle Fork of Taylor Creek. They haven't issued this year's closures but I assume they'll be something similar since those birds tend to nest at the same spot every year.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
