I'm pretty sure this is the same day as Thrash and Dangle fest.

Do people still put up new routes at Beanfest? Has the culture of it changed over the years?

Angel Mangual · · Sierra Vista, AZ · Joined Jan 2009 · Points: 1,501

Yes, they still put up new routes during BeanFest. We will give you a topo of the new routes that are setup with their grades when you at BeanFest. So far, there are at least 12 new routes that I know off.

Because the Thrash & Dangle fest is scheduled for the same time as BeanFest, I am concerned that people may want to go to both Festivals and will have to choose to attend one or the other. If this is a concern to a lot of climbers, I am willing to change the BeanFest to April 28th. If going to both festivals is not a concern for the majority of the BeanFest attendees then we can keep the date as it is now. Please let me know your thoughts on this and if the new date is feasible for you. Thank you

I spoke with Scott tonight and the Tufa Fest will be in the Fall - it will not be in the spring as earlier mentioned.

I do know that this will coincide with the Thrash and Dangle - which is shaping up to attract the majority of the Phoenix crowd.

I am ordering the Bean Fest shirts. The sizes are from small to xlarge. There is a small quantity of small and xlarge shirts, so if you want to get one please let me know, and I will reserve it for you. Also, I am ordering tank tops and the sizes are small and medium. I am not ordering xxlarge and up unless someone wants one. The colors of the shirts are black, white, and yellow. I have posted the shirts design, so you can have an idea how they are going to look.

If you want to reserve a shirt let me know by sending me an email at cochisebeanfest@gmail.com

Thanks!

Jack, you can pretty much camp at the 'festival area' if you arrive reasonably early.

Late arrivals might be forced to adjacent camping areas, requiring a walk (read: bean-laced drunken stupor) of 1/4 mile or so.

I second your gratitude of the awesome tradition of free Beanfests. If I'm not mistaken, in recent tradition the hard work of the Beanmaster has been supported via t-shirt sales, so support Beanfest if you are attending and buy a shirt!

Jack it is hard work but you basically do it for the fun, the experience, and especially to keep a great festival with such a rich history alive. Like James mentioned you can camp around the festival if you get there early. I will try to be there by Wednesday afternoon to reserve the main camp area in Isle of You for the Bean Fest itself. Thank you and I hope you are able to make it. BE READY TO BE BEANED!

By the Way, we still needs couple of mains thing:

2 Tables
Pot and Pans
Trash Cans

There is also other things needed that are listed on the below spread sheet link.

Angel,

Summit Hut has got tables we can borrow. Talk to Frank or Dana. I'd pick them up, but there won't be room in my truck.

I'll bring several pots and pans, and a few serving utensils.

Brigette

First, I want to say thank you for every one that is bringing something that really helps a lot. Beanfest is 6 days away and I am still missing some essential material from the list.

- Coleman Stove fuel
- Stoves
- Trash Cans and others.

Please look at the spread sheet and let me know what you can bring.

Also, we had some complications with the first order of shirts with the company. I had to use another company in a short amount of time. Because of this I have to increase the prices from $15 to $17. I am very sorry for any inconvenience but the first order was not good.

Plain and simple Angel; your Beanfest rocked! You really put allot of energy and thought into setting this one up. Great job on the treasure hunt, decorations, games, prizes, beaning, photo contest.. it was all a great time. I hope the treasure hunt sticks as a new tradition.. that was, by far, my favorite part.

Looking forward to the Fall Beanfest!!

Now wait a minute. I invented the treasure hunt last fall. :-)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
