I mentioned this in another thread and have been getting a bunch of emails asking about it. So, I figured I'd post it up here for everyone to see.

For those that aren't familiar with the Adirondacks, Jim Lawyer and Jeremy Haas have put countless hours into an incredible guidebook. If you climb in the Adirondacks, you need this book. You can buy it here:

adirondackrock.com/purchase…

Or just stop in The Mountaineer in Keene Valley and pick up a copy if you're visiting the High Peaks area.

The book does not offer a rundown of climbs by grade, which I find useful. However, the authors provide a PDF on their webpage, which has been great:

I pulled this into Excel and added the area of the climb as an additional column. This lets you easily sort through the 2,000 climbs by location, grade, and number of stars. For instance, I just quickly looked at all climbs 5.7-5.10a with 3 stars or more within easy reach of Keene Valley.

I posted this file on my webpage here:

Enjoy!

This is an awesome and very useful idea. I did the same thing earlier this year, but added in the destination (Crane Mountain, Baker Mountain...) in addition to the region that was already listed. I also made it so that you can sort the grade (ascending and descending)since this isn't possible when it's stored as text. If you're interested in these extra columns let me know.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
