Sphinx Wall is located halfway between the 'Superratic' area and the 'French Cattle Ranch'. The left side of the crag is easily seen from the trail that connects Superratic to F.C.R.. Look for a wall consisting of clean white rock that has a few obvious bolted lines.

Routes from left to right:

-'Wyoming Wave' 5.12- (the large 'wave' crack system that shoots through the roof)
-'Little Man' 5.12c (thin bouldery start around the bulge, to vertical small pockets)
-'Hot Milk' 5.11c (flake layback start to steep pockets and edges)

-the route 'Chocolate Mescalin' (5.12+ dyno) is located up the hill from 'Hot Milk', on the right side of the crag

Getting There

Approach for 'Superratic' or 'French Cattle Ranch'.

Climbing Season

For a 50 foot route this packs a punch. Between the tenuous start , dyno that is actually a deadpoint, and figuring out how to skip all of the micro holds that really aren't needed you are in for a ride. Piecing it all together is key if you are going to send....[more]   Browse More Classics in WY

I noticed two new routes at Sphinx Wall when I was there in mid July 2014.
They are between 'Hot Milk' and 'Wyoming Wave'.
One is a 13a, and the other a 12b. (According to the chalk written at the base of each route)
They both look great! Can't wait to try them out.

Check out Tensleep Canyon's facebook page. Team Horst added them during their visit in July. There's a little topo or beta on them.
