Sperlonga Rock Climbing

This place is amazing and seemingly the best kept secret in Europe for Fall, Winter, and Spring climbing. Americans and the English speaking world have simply not yet discovered this place. The Italians from up north sure have and the weekends see the more popular crags flooded by Romans and northern Italians. The rest of the time you have the crags to yourselves! Summer must be high season for the beach but too hot for climbing.... Unless you really like sweating and thailand like heat.
Some of the best limestone imaginable with Mediterranean well protected muli-pitch moderates to Sharma-friendly 5.13/14 cave tufa/routes in the Grotto. The food of course is typically awesome but because you are in the south, prices are much more tourist friendly than in the expensive North. Just go to any Bar after climbing and ask for "Aperitivo" and you will get so many snacks of cheese and sausage and pizza and pasta and olives and mozzerella with your drinks of choice, you won't have to wait for the 7pm opening of the restaurants:)!
