I took a ~15 foot fall while soloing in my gym yesterday. The sliding buckle on my harness has a huge, very obvious crack in it now. The crack goes all the way through the plastic. It can still slide and adjust. I'm not too worried, as i have a pretty snazzy misty cadillac waiting in tow, however I'm curious as to if the buckle is replaceable, or if i should just ditch the harness.
Thanks in advance for your help and informative responses. ~Caeden
It's Black Diamonds lower-end harness. That red thing. I'm definitely leaning towards retiring it. @Patrick: I haven't looked at it too closely for a repair, but i would imagine it might be a pain. Good idea on sending it into Black Diamond.
I'll probably just make it a lender for top roping friends, or retire it.

I'd say it's a warranty issue. It's BD's fault for using plastic on a harness. Send it in and request warranty service.

Guessing if its plastic it probably isn't needed for safety but would have to see pics. I agree that bd would probably fix it. They do seem to stand behind their stuff.
