Description

This is the steep bolted route that climbs the face left of an arete to the left of Stargazer Crack. It is one of the hardest routes in the Durango area and a quality challenge.

Location

This is on the left hand side of the Stargazer area.

Protection

Bolts.

With as classic as this route is, I nominate it for an equipment upgrade. One of the anchor bolts is wiggling in the hole, and they both need chains. Several of the bolts on the route are old and rusting; some are very scary spinners. I would also advocate for moving some of the bolt placement, since they are not really in the right location for a redpoint ascent. I've already spoken with one of the bolters about this idea, and he said it was fine with him. Any reasons against?

This thing needed re-equipping like 12 years ago! :D
Do well.
