A company called Utah Independent Power is proposing a dam in Day Canyon, right at Bootleg Tower, that will
essentially turn Day Canyon into a mini Lake Powel. There is climbing in the canyon that will go underwater if this goes through, but perhaps more important is what the seepage from said reservoir would do to Longs Canyon. It is conceivable that we could lose two canyons at the cost of one. Apparently the comment period is only open for a couple more weeks, so if you are opposed to this you need to voice it.
