Description

The crux is near the top and well above the one bolt located on the 2nd pitch. It's a fun route that can be led in one or two pitches. But it's also very run out for a new 5.6 - 5.7 leader. The view to the northeast includes the summit of Old People's Dome and the view to the southeast includes the climb called Inner Course on the Formation Youbet Jorasses.

Location

The start of the route is in the middle of the large, slab-like Southwest Face of Rhinoceros Rock. The 1st bolt is placed a few feet above a small bush about 25 feet up the slab. There is the opportunity to place some gear below and just above and to the left of the 1st bolt.

Protection

The 1st pitch has 2 bolts. A nice two-bolt anchor w/chains is located well above the second bolt and some distance to the right of it. Pitch 2 only has 1 bolt and the crux is getting to the large col-like stance on top of the formation located well above the bolt. A bomber, 2-bolt anchor is located on the wall about head high just to your left as you face the Formation Youbet Jorasses. Both of the anchor bolts are connected to a solid chain by large cold shuts. Several weathered slings with two rappel rings, likely used before the placement of fixed gear, are wrapped around a very large boulder in the col or window-like stance also.
