at 1:20 there seems to be fixed gear on the route and then it seems like he takes that big whipper on said gear. Anyone else noticed that? I find that way more intriguing than the metolius placement. Dom

I think the placement looks decent. Not stellar, but really a non-issue. Since the route doesn't seem to wander, the cam wouldn't really be being pulled around in any direction with enough force to make a small cam like that walk much. Directionally, if he fell, it would be absolutely fine.

That being said, if it was even remotely an issue, it would be one that could be solved by a runner, or even just a light QD to give it a bit more play.

I'd fall on it.

Awesome fall. Big balls for the runout, but I gotta say I agree with Scott. If that thing walked, which we'll never ever know, it would have flared and popped bigtime. You don't have to climb .12b (which as a disclaimer, I cannot) on gear to know that. Awesome vid.

No "Hmmm" involved, if you take the screenshot while he's still placing the cam. Might as well say the gear on his harness is poorly placed. :D

Cool vid. Anyone know who the climber is? Looks a lot like a guy I went to school with at Appalachian State a few years ago. I agree w/ Germsauce too... "This is how you climb above your gear".

How on earth are you guys so stuck on a single cam placement? If I over analyzed every placement as much as some of you I would be too scared to climb! Jeff Kent
