DescriptionThis is a newer place that is still pretty dirty. One day while on a annual hunting trip with my buddy he took me back here and i was amazed a nearly 1.5 miles of cliff along the Big Surgar river it was awsome. From Mound City you want to head west on 52 highway then 11 miles just before you get to blue mound there is a corner instead of turning left to go into blue mound go right for about 2 or 3 miles then take a left on a gravel road by a ostrige farm and take the first right then follow this to a low water bridge, park here and hike on either side of the rive, it is a pretty long hike so don't give up. On the right side of the river is top rope on the left side is bouldering. I am not sure if there is climbing permitted here but if you feel a little ballsy then go for it and have a blast. I would climb here in the late fall winter and early spring due to high rattle snake and copperhead population. It is not safe in the summer. If you have any worries about snakes don't go stay out!
