Planning a trip in the next few days or weeks and worried about smoke impact?

Here is a great resource from the USFS that will help you predict where the smoke will blow.

This map lists the extents of the fires as well (data taken from satellite infrared sensors):

Anyone actually out and about in Mammoth, Tuolumne, or Bridgeport who can provide a firsthand account of current conditions?

Sonora pass area has been perfectly clear the last two weekends. I expect the hulk to be getting better in the next few days too, since it's not too far. I have heard of smoke in Mammoth now and then and meadows were quite smoky.

The smoke has gotten better in Mammoth in the last 2 days. It looks clear to the north and very smoky to the south.

i live in the park and the meadows were a bit smoky on sunday but it is crystal clear here today. it all depends on which way the wind blows

So tha Palisades are smoked out? Thinking of being there this weekend and next. Has anyone been in the area very recently? Is it bad?

I was in Tuolumne this past weekend and it was fine. Some days perfectly clear, other days a bit smokey in the distance, but nothing that really hindered my trip.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
