Slacker Dome Area Description
Slacker Dome Area is located in the Pines of South Platte. With roughly a 45 minute hike in, finding the different crags can be interesting. I highly suggest investing in a GPS for this area as the crags are spread out. The main climbing attraction here is Slacker Dome, but if you are looking for some single pitch fun, there is some to offer around the area as well at different crags.
Getting There
Whether you are coming from the North or South, you will have to access CO-126 towards Pine, Co. If driving south, turn right onto Crystal Lake Road just before hitting Pine, CO, and follow it to the end of the road and park in the lower parking lot. Hike Narrow Gauge Trail until the second bridge, cross the river, and hike up Buck Gulch Trail. Once on the Ridge, heading south, look west to find a prominent ridge and get atop of it. This should be the top of the dome. Continue down the south side to not hike through private property. This is the only way to hike in to avoid trespassing on private land.
