Access Issue: Private Property Details

Rob's Rolling Rocks is a guide company that claims to pay the owner of the property rent to have access. However, the local mountain club put up and maintains the bolts. It would be advised to pay one of the locals to guide you to the wall. Expect to be harassed by Rob or one of his employees for money if you want to climb there.

Description

In the shade most of the day until about the 5' o clock hour. 14 bolted routes, bolts less than 5 years old. There is an old rope running horizontally over the top of the crag, do not use!

Rob's Rolling Rock does not own this land and I have confirmed that with the local police. If you want to climb at the crag, just watch out as he has chased off a few climbers. Check in with the local police and ask for protection. Then you should be fine. You can pay for parking at Moses Campsite at the top of the crag and rap down about 35m to the bottom.

Getting There

Go by car if you can to Sipi. Once in Mbale, head north on mbale-moroto rd. When in Muyembe, you will take a right on a road with a church on the corner into Sipi Falls. Once in Sipi, there is a trail less than a quarter of a mile away from Crow's Nest. Stay at the Crow's Nest if you are backpacking. Stay at Sipi River Lodge if you have more money.
