This large glacial erratic boulder lies right near the Nashua/Merrimack town line. Ive walked the area around it and no other rocks anywhere so it's just this single beauty.

The history as far as I know is the boulder is called Simons Rock and was used by Native Americans, settlers, & kids to this day (even though I rarely encounter anyone here).

Awesome after work place to go for a few problems. So far Ive cleaned and found/sent 4-5 problems in the V2-4 range. Have a problem on the roof I've been trying to conquer that I am estimating V6+.

Long story short... Does this boulder deserve a page in the Route Guide or is it best kept as is?

P.S. If you go bring a bag for trash as kids leave plentiful amounts and watch for glass in landing. I pick up trash and move glass every time.

What you will see from the trail.

Pretty good looking boulder. Looks like there's even a highball or two.

Sweet find Evan! Reminds me a little of Berlin Boulder. I'll have to check it out next time I'm back visiting my folks in Pepperell, MA.

I say post it up, I know I'll be checking it out soon! Southern NH must have some rock lurking around that people know of. I know I'd be psyched to check stuff out.

I wouldn't post a sole boulder, although the Londonderry boulder gives precedence. I resisted posting about the boulder off of Back River Rd (exit 12) in a similar fashion. Simonds Rock is two minutes from my office so I'll have to check this thing out during my lunch break tomorrow. I've lived in Nashua/Merrimack most of my life and never knew it existed. :)

Last year I revisited some old childhood haunts (the quarry off of Ridge Rd) but was sadly disappointed. My wife was disgusted that we used to jump off the 30ft cliff there based on the rocks and the now-manky water but I promised her it wasn't bad after a few beers, hah!

Ah, yeah...since the Londonderry boulder has a page I'd say this deserves one! For one thing it's bigger and has less graffiti! And probably has more problems than all the Londonderry boulders combined.

I am excited there is a good buzz. Hopefully with more people working it more problems will go.

The roof in front is not the best condition as I think fires underneath have made some of the rock chossy. But dont let that detour you from a fun lunch break of after work session.

Checked this out on monday while it was raining, saw some chalk on stuff around the back from the overhang which looked pretty good. The overhang itself has a pedestal and super good low feet. I didn't really see a singular line on the overhang, but it seems like there'd be some good contrivances.

Encountered a PSNH truck who told me the dirt path up to the boulder is a private road, so park near the pavement.

I made Simon's Rock it's own page. My first time adding an area so Id love some help with the grades, descriptions, and anything else you see or want to change.

As far as FA's I am guessing no one else has sent anything here before as most of the lines needed cleaning. But I could be very wrong and have no problem changing any info.

Thanks and get out there!

Hah, I was wondering if the other car I saw heading down the dirt path (open gate) was you. I didn't see a truck when I drove in a little afterwards.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
