The Sacramento Valley and northern Sierra foothills are a LARGE area. Ranging from Sonora Pass in the south, it reaches nearly to Chico in the north. Elevations are from 700 feet in the west up to several thousand feet as it rises towards the greater Lake Tahoe area in the east.
