Shrike, FA James Crump, 5.12 R, 1988, Enchanted Ro...

Description

A strenuous thin line of crimp laybacking above a guillotine blade.

Location

Locate the imposing corner (Fear of Flying) on the East face, just around the corner to the left, past an overhanging dihedral (Aquatic Anxiety) is the obvious chopper flake (4 ft high and sharp). Shrike climbs the seam starting standing on the tip of this blade.

Protection

tiny nuts for the beginning, the crack opens up a bit as the climbing eases.
