Description Suggest change

There are two climbs on Short Cracks Slab. This is a good beginner slab.

1. Short Cracks 5.5 (trad)
2. Just Another 5.9 (top rope)

Short Cracks 5.5 (pro: cams 1 each 1.25 -1.75”, 1 nut set)
A two tier climb. The top of the first tier is the crux where the crack starts to thin out as shown in the picture. You can get good pro in just below the crux. The crack on the second tier is very short and you can get pro in near the top of the crack. The second tier is more of a scramble.

Just Another 5.9 (top rope)

This climb starts out easy with small positive edges. At first you are saying this isn’t a 5.9. But then you get to the crux near the top of the climb. The top of the slab gets fairly smooth at the top. Just Another 5.9 is to the right of Short Cracks.

Trad and top rope. No anchors at the top of Short Cracks. Can use the pine tree to set an anchor.

Getting There Suggest change

The approach starts by going up around the right hand end of Beeline Slab. Hike up past a large fallen log until you reach a grown in wash. Turn left and head up the wash to access the top of Beeline Slab Go to the West end of Beeline Slab and look to your right for Short Cracks Slab.
