I am looking into getting some new shoes just for bouldering. I have been looking at these:

http://www.rei.com/product/809818/la-sportiva-solution-rock-shoes

rei.com/product/830937/la-s…

what do you think is the best? why? I am also open to other suggestions but I will have to be able to find them local to buy them I dont like ordering shoes.

Muiras are more of an all-around.

Solutions are more of a bouldering/steep sport shoe.

I have a 20% off coupon right now.... my profile is fairly up to date the routes is my onsight level. (I can do some harder on a good day at the moment). I have 2 other pairs of shoes for routes, I am more interested in a shoe that does technical climbing very well for outside granite. With the health problems I have been having this year I have been doing more bouldering and want shoes just for that. The bouldering around me is usually very small crystals for footholds so the shoe needs to edge very well. I have bouldered on and off for 12-15 years If I can stay out of the hospital I can get back up to v3-v4 fairly fast and progress from there. so what is a good shoe out right now?

understand that but I don’t push myself much or have the stamina to do so on trad right now. So what’s a good technical bouldering shoe?

For slabby to just past vert get Miuras.

For steeper than vert get solutions.

Solutions are made for bouldering and edge extremely well. Muira lace are all around general shoes. Muira velcro are slightly more aggressive but nothing compared to the Solutions.

@skitch, ralph

Thank you, I have good shoes for slab-almost vert so looks like I am leaning more towards the solutions to fill my vertical-overhanging hole. Assuming they fit good.
Also going to look into if anyone in alb. sells scarpa boostics I can try on.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.

Bouldering
