There are many seasonal raptor closures with varying dates and specific boundaries. These generally effect The Monument, Kiss of the Lepers, Picnic Lunch Wall and/or Smith Rock group, and possibly elsewhere. These usually run from February to the beginning of August, but each closure is usually shorter than this, and is dependent on the birds' behavior. Description

The prominent buttress to the right of Aggro Gully. West Ship is its brother buttress. Because much of the rock on the face of this buttress is less than optimal few routes are found on it but the few that are there are worth checking out.

Getting There

Hike the river trail downstream around Windy Corner past Shiprock. The first buttress is East Ship.
