Stone of Ignorance.
I'd like to go to shelf anytime it's dry and warm (over 55 degrees) -- any day of the week is fine.
Anyone else interested?

When is the best time to climb at Shelf? I'm planning on being there in late June/early July. C.J. DeYoung III

If the conditions are right, Shelf is climbable all year long. Generally, spring and fall are the most reliable times. June and July are gonna be hot. You'll need to chase shade or start very early. By mid-morning you'll be looking for relief from the sun.

I teach skiing at Beaver Creek, and work March 10 - 13 (my last days this season), and can climb after March 14.

My girlfriend and I are looking for a ride to Shelf from Boulder this weekend. Hoping to camp Fri/Sat and climb Sat/Sun. Happy to help with gas, driving, consumables, etc.

Thanks!

Sanz, I live in Silverthorne, and drive over Hoosier Pass to Fairplay; then take 9 to canon city and Shelf. Takes between 2:20 to 2:30 hours from Silverthorne, and sorry, Boulder's not along the way. sibylle
