Hi, folks. We've got a rest day in Bishop, and would like to get some cragging in. Can anyone recommend a wall with afternoon shade? How's warmup? Also, we don't climb that hard, so sub-.10 recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks!

Ben.... go down there and look. Warning wall is in the sun all am long but it gets shade in the afternoon, remember this is black colored stone, it tends to hold heat.

I dont have a guide handy but if you try the PUB, some of that never sees the sun. And there are some fine climbs, just right for you, there.

At the north Gorge, there are faces that go into the shade early, some never see sun.

I have spent 2 weeks there in August... 106 in Bishop... good climbin in the ORG.

Hint.... some of the deep crevasses, by the PUB and North Gorge (by Gorgeous) have cold air blowing up from the bowels of the earth. Go find these and sit and chill a bit.

But you will not get any REST if you go to the ORG

Have Fun

Thanks a bunch for the beta, Guy. Ended up having a REAL rest day yesterday (booze and a pool), but will be east side for the next few weeks and will definitely check it out!

Enjoy your time, in our State.
