BETA PHOTO: The Kigluaik Mountains to the north of Nome as vie...

The largest population center in this area is Nome. In Nome there's an indoor climbing wall and on the road toward the village of Teller, there are several areas with limited bouldering possibilities. The mountains to the north of Nome (the Kigluaik Mountains) are quite rugged and have a couple impressive looking peaks when viewed from the Imruk Basin.

Getting There

To reach the Seward Peninsula, most people fly from Anchorage (airport code ANC) to Nome (airport code OME). It's also possible to travel by boat, or enter the Iditarod Race and travel by dogsled!
