I thought it be cool to put together a crew of 6-8 people (roughly two rope teams) to practice mountaineering skills and plan out trips for this upcoming summer. I'd like to do some crevasse rescue practice trips (either on Baker or Rainer.) Then start off with some easier mountains in may (Hood and Adams) building up to more technical in the North Cascades (Shuksan is high on my list) in June and ending with Mt. Rainer in July. I want to have a steady progression so everyone in the crew can trust/ get to know each other. Also have a good understanding with skills.

Each person must have all personal gear, we can compile and figure out group gear after the teams has been established.

Building safety and leadership building skills are key expectations for this group.

Must be also be in Seattle area.

If anyone is interested email me at: steven.c.jacoby@gmail.com

Hey there, I live down in Bend, OR, but I'd be stoked to be a part of your group. It sounds like you have a great plan of training, getting to know each other etc. I might be less able to participate in all that, being farther away, so i understand if that doesn't fit into your plan.
I took a course with Tacoma mountaineers a number of years ago, have been on Little Tahoma, Denali, and in the Bugaboos doing roped travel. I also have experience ski mountaineering on the Cascade volcanoes.
Let me know if you are ever in the area, or might want to talk about climbing together.
I have Jefferson on my list as far as Central Oregon climbs if you're thinking about that one.
Cheers, Eliza

Hey Eliza,

I saw you had Cascade Volcano ski mountaineering experience and I am going to ski the ring of fire starting this may. I am looking for partners and since you live in bend would you be interested in a three sisters traverse attempt? I am from Seattle (currently living and skiing in the tetons) and I consider myself an advanced ski mountaineer and an expert skier. I am very comfortable (but not an expert) with general mountaineering, glacier rescue. Also, if you are looking to knock off jefferson or other volcanoes I am trying to do the whole ring so if we did connect and feel safe about being partners you could definitely do more with me.

If you are interested in a traverse attempt, we could connect on an easier summit (mount Bailey or Pelican butte for example) earlier in may, and if we felt good then we could go for the sisters several days later.
