With nine or more cragging areas, the Schlüchttal has plenty to keep one busy. Near the border of Switzerland, the Schlüchttal valley lies in an area seldom visited by foreign tourists.

There is a Guesthouse in Witznau that is affordable and interesting.

Getting There Suggest change

Auto: Go to Waldschut (S on the 500) then go SE toward Koblenz. In Smittenau, go NE on the E54/ 34. Then go N toward Gurtweil on the L161, then NE toward Witznau on the L157 to your crag of choice.

Bus no. 7342 over Ühlingen into the Schlüchttal. Information: Südbaden bus gmbh, tel: 07751-19449. Bad attainability with public transportation because the stops rarely are conveyed in the Schlüchttal. Moreover the stretch is dangerous on foot from the bus stop to the rocks because narrow valley, narrow street and no footpath is available.
